We Don’t Earn Grace

Grace is the power of Jesus the Christ that enlightens us, strengthens us, and helps us grow. Grace is God’s mercy towards us. He can offer that mercy because he atoned for our sins.

God’s grace is constant. It is unchanging. God does not withdraw his grace. His atonement does not stop working.

God does not remove our ability to make choices. He leaves that power with us. Our choices result in us not being constant. We are constantly changing.

When our choices misalign ourselves with God, we do not feel God’s grace at a deep level. Our mind becomes darkened. We become confused. We easily succumb to the things our body lusts after.

When our choices align ourselves with God, it is easier to feel our experience of God’s grace. Choices become clearer. We are more enlightened. We have greater power over our temptations. When we are misaligned with God, it is His grace that give us the power to grow to overcome our mistakes.

We do not earn God’s grace. We make choices that align our will with God’s and this results in an increase in our capacity to recognize our experience of His grace.
