How To Not Validate Your Spouse

1. Tell your spouse that their perception is skewed.

2. Tell your spouse that if you don’t feel emotional pain they shouldn’t either.

3. Tell your spouse that everyone sees the situation differently than they do.

4. Get angry.

5. Explain all the times your spouse’s perception has been incorrect.

6. Bring up a different topic.

7. Explain to your spouse, in detail, that they are flawed in an area of their life that is completely different than the one they are currently talking about.

8. Tell a story about something that has nothing to do with the topic at hand.

9. Give an oration on the topic.

10. Ignore your spouse.

11. Tell your spouse how they are overreacting.

12. Explain your spouse’s faults.

13. Offer up non-meaningful grunts.
