Unplugged Family Rafting

Arches Academy & ProRaftingTours

Has time seemed like it has sped by and your child, who once sat on your knee when you came home, barely glances up from their electronics to acknowledge you are in the house. According to the Child Development Institute, “Children from birth to adulthood need time and attention from their parents. Sometimes parents become so anxious to raise a “successful” child that they overlook the importance of spending time interacting personally with their child or children. This does not mean rushing from school to extracurricular activity to supervising homework. Interactive time is that spent with both child and parent fully engaged in an activity together. The importance of this time is multifold:

·         The child feels important and loved.

·         He or she has an opportunity to model parent’s behavior.

·         The parent can observe and learn about the child’s strengths and weaknesses in order to better

guide them.

·         The child has a chance to voice their thoughts and feelings.

·         The parent and child develop a stronger bond.

We want to offer you an opportunity for families to spend quality time together. Have a time that families can re-learn to work together, better communication skills, and develop stronger bonds all in the calming environment of the great outdoors. PRORAFTINGTOURS in conjunction with Arches Academy are doing a special rafting package for families on the Salmon River in Idaho. It is the best river package in the west, providing a first-class river experience.

It is a 5-Day family river experience that allows the families time to work the rapids together which develops better working relationships and builds communication skills. It is completely off-grid giving a time away from social media and work obligations. No more, ‘just a minute I have to take this call’. Your family knows during river time they have your full attention. A natural environment such as this naturally lowers blood pressure and anxiety, it opens channels that have been clogged with everyday life. There will be moments that cannot be duplicated anywhere else and will be looked back upon for years to come. Times such as powering through a rapid together, family games in the camp, stories told, or just sitting side-by-side enjoying what nature has to offer you adds to your bucket of love.

Yes, it is in the outdoors for 5 days, however, the meals are gourmet meals prepared right at the camp and the camping materials will all be provided. No worrying about what you need or don’t need for a relaxing time. All you need is your personal items. Staff on hand will be there at all times to make your family experience all the more relaxing and enjoyable.

Because there are limited permits given for the Salmon River, there is limited space available, only 20 people per session. Currently there are two separate available times, July 8th- July 12th 2019 and July 16th – July 20th 2019. Cost will be based upon booking time. Up to half of the cost of the trip will be donated to Arches Academy, a non-profit organization that has small hands-on learning classes. The revenue will be for low income children who need this type of education but cannot afford it; therefore, part of your cost you can even write off. It is a win-win situation where you will be benefiting your family dynamics and helping children in need. Don’t hesitate to be a part of this advantageous endeavor.
